First off my 2000 300ex has a sparks exhaust, open airbox and some jetting. I am going to liven it up with a stage 1 hotcam and a cdi box done by sparks. I know that hotcam calls for oem valve springs but with the cdi box should I switch them? I don't want to if I don't have to but don't want to mess anything up either.

nah you'll be fine with the stock springs. When you do decided to change valves, just make sure you upgrade then cause its not needed, but it doesnt hurt to have them.

yea youll be fine on the stock valve springs

the stage one hot cam is a decent drop in cam, it helps throttle response and helped a little in the mid- range

i could tell some difference, but it was not as noticeable as i expected (hoped)

the 400ex carb to me was more worth it then the hotcam,

i sold my hotcam soon after it was broken it because i knew it wouldnt cut it with my current set-up

if you want the real power web cams is where its at
