This is probably a beat to death topic, but what kind of oil do you guys use? I'm partial to Klotz, which is what I run in my outboard. However, the motor in this Suzuki, is supposed to have very little time on it, and I would like to run some kind of petroleum based product (at least for a couple of hours) to let the ring seat properly.

You don't have to run Zuki oil.
My favorites are:: Torco GP-7 and Klotz R50. 32:1 if your premixing.
Get a elcheapo oil for the break-in if ya feel the need. Valvoline, wolfs head, etc.

I've not had trouble just running the synthetic from the get go.

Rick:: Klotz 927 is a bean oil and separates in the cold.:)

I run the R-50 in my outboard, so I got plenty of that. :D :D I'll be premixing. Supposedly the oil injection was already off, but when I pulled the pump, the shaft gear was still in place, and had a nice rounded wear mark from the worm gear. :eek2: Got that out, and made a block off plate, pulled the oil tank and plugged the feed to the carb. ;)

LT80, out of curiosity, where do you get your Klotz? I just bought a case about a month ago, and with shipping, I'm paying just shy of $40 a gallon. :eek2:

I haven't had any for a while. I did use it and liked it. I imagine the price is right.
I been using whatever the parts store has for a cpl years and my lack of longevity shows it.
I'm going to put my 310 back together. I'll be ordering the Torco. I'm sure I will be paying like you did. :)
torcousa.com (to compare).
