Im getting ready to buy a 310 kit from esr and was thinking of putting in a stroker crank, has anyone ever ran this type of setup I was wodering how they run and if there are any reliability issues with this type of setup

Or would I just be better off just buying a 330 and getting the cases machined

ESR's standard 310 kit is not an actual 310. it's around 193-195cc if using a 72mm bore and the standard stroked R crank. they make impressive power (to have a "cookie cutter" port) over the stock OEM cylinder but, deffinately have room for improvement.

going with a stroker crank (4mm) and the 72mm(standard ESR 310 bore) will put you at a "true" 310cc engine and yes, it is a reliable setup.

as mentioned, ESR's porting is "cookie cutter" and you'll need decide if you can settle for that or have an alternate reputable engine builder do additional porting and to coordinate what you want as per your riding style and bike setup. i personally like the power that a strker delivers. hope this helps.
