what gearing

I ride trails in Wv and do some hill climbing, the previous owner had it setup for mx, what gearing should I go with?

Might tell us a little bit about the quad, for starters, what kind of quad? What mods? Tire size? etc.

it's a 2000 416ex, pr racing engine, lone star +3 a-arms ,works lt shocks, lone star steering stem, swing arm and axel.

41mm fcr carb, pro circuit T-4 slip-on and other stuff, had 18x11-8
turf tamers but I just bought a set of holeshots 20x11-8.

I would suggest 13/38 gearing with the mods that you have and running the 20 inch tires. You might be able to get away with a 14 on the front, but I suggest starting with 13 and seeing how it goes. Front sprockets are cheap. :)
