whoa settle down killer. i wasnt ripping on diesel trucks, i think there awsome. Theres just a bunch of kids outside chicago who drive diesels with a chip and exhaust that always try to race people. Brads truck is nice, and if anybody has seen wienens truck now that he has wheels on it , it makes my pants all sticky...

P.S. I wasnt saying anything against diesels because i drive a srt4, atleast there both turbos! :) i was just saying what i think. After all isnt that what a forum is for?

i drive a 96' f250 psd

4 inch turbo back stainless exhaust, AFE intake, shimmed FPR, Live Tuned by DP tuner with their F5 chip, boost, trans temp, and pyro gauges on the a-piller, ATS trans, 18k module...used to have it setup with a D66 turbo and Stage 2 injectors..but i dumped that turbo and will soon be ordering a hypermax modded H2E with hybrid 530 injectors and a stealth pump system. Should be dangerously close to 500hp

my cousin used to have a 97 dodge 12 valve with 714 HP and 1200 ft/lb torque all at the rear wheels. he took it to the strip and wasted everyone there. she was quick for sure! but its gone now, he sold it and bought a "daddy truck" mega cab dually!:(

This statement shows how little you know about diesels. Stacks are one of the best exhaust systems for keeping EGT's down. In fact I dont like them for towing at all, because they usually leave large trailers covered in soot. Plus I think the right stacks look cool. Which is an opinion by the way.

They're used on a lot of pulling trucks and high horsepower trucks to keep EGT's down thats all. They do serve a purpose on some trucks.

rider250EX - has your buddy had any problems with his tranny yet? Tell him to ditch that Diablo, they're notorious for transmission problems as they do nothing for the tranny. He can get more power and put it down safer with something different like an SCT.

rider250ex that truck is really nice becuase we have a 05 f250 that loks close to it but its gray and i must say the single stack is the stupidest thing ive ever seen. It only looks good if there duals or else 1 single coming out the back like stock.

No problems with the tranny yet. No problems with the truck at all yet which is strange. I thought the single stack look so dumb at first but now i love it. Everyone around here has dual stacks so he decided he was going to get one come up inside the frame rails right next to the middle window. Well the idiot at the exhaust shop said it was impossible and drilled a hole through the bed on the outside of the framerail without telling my friend so he ended up just putting it there. Hes done putting money into this truck though. His plan is to get on 06 regualr cab dually cummins. he wants to build something with decent power and the 6.0 is deffineatly not a good motor to start on.

yah I can see a point for lower EGT's and towing, that's why I stated that I hope he tows a lot. Most of the retards around here just take daddy's truck and throw rims and stacks on it.

As many of my friends know, I am an all out Ford man. I currently have a 1994 Ranger 5spd, with the 2.3L "straight eight" POWERplant. This truck has been threw Hell. And that is a HUGE understatement! I have beaten this thing..HARD, but it just will not die!! This thing has been bounced off the rev limited, dropped gear after gear to 2nd from 60MPH w/o using the brakes, and has seen numerous clutch drops, which at times had a full loads (over the sides of the box) of hardwood. All this, and still gets me 22-25MPG (depending on how much I beat it.) hehe

But enough about the poor beater.. I would love to, some day, get a Black 4dr, short box P-stroker with a modest lift and aluminum wheels with some aggressive OS tires.

haha yah sadly to say that's probably one of the more reliable trucks they make. Is you 2.3 FI? they run forever. I've seen rangers with 500,000 miles on them and some people have claimed to get 1,000,000 miles on them

19-20 sounds good i get about 17 if i keep my foot out of it.. i would really like to test drive a cummins but i dont know any one with one. they sure do sound mean..well not the new ones but it seems all of the big 3 diesels have gone down the drain the last couple years.

yeah shes FI. I could definitely see that engine lasting 500K with good care. What kind of mods do you have on yours?

That's one thing I must admit about Dodge... Man, they sound awesome. Gas or diesel. Though.. my girlfriends mom has a 2004 Ram 1500 with the 5.7 Hemi, they bought new. It gets 13MPG with someone that drives the speed limit and doesn't accelerate hard. And if that's not bad enough with under 37K it has already had the rack and pinion, power steering pump and thermostat replaced!

Not every brand of truck responds well to every tuner. For instance you and I both know that SCT is the best for powerstrokes, while for dodge, I think Its a PPE? and probably Diablo for Duramaxipads:chinese: Each engine responds differently to each different tuner.

Yes I know, but the Diablo doesn't seem to be at the top of any of the lists. It doesn't have any custom tuning for it as far as I know, and I know with at least the fords, it doesn't do one single thing for the transmission, which is not good when you're adding 100's of horses and a few hundred foot pounds. Nearly every person on the diesel site I belong to who has had one, has sold it for something else.

Exactly. They all have their flaws, and they all have their strong points. This thread is about general diesels and our love for them, not saying how this will outpull that and blah blah blah. Whoever has the most money will probably out pull. With enough time and money you can make anything happen, just remember that...

Here is my old girl. I am on Dieseltruckresource as well. Have always been a Cummins kid, so this is my daily driver....

Right now:

5" Straight Exhaust exits in front of duals on passenger side. Boost, Fuel and Pyro Guages, BHAF Intake with Heat Shield, Goerend Performance Valve Body.

Somewhere being shipped right now:

Boost Elbow, Fuel Line Snubber, Quad XZT+.

Eventually: Aluminium flat bed, headache, that sort of thing. More engine goodies, fuel system upgrade, and body work.

I bought my SCT from Innovative Diesel, and it comes with three tunes of my choice for nothing. For an extra $80 or so you can get an Xtreme tune. I did so. Extra tunes run about $65.

That was a early 99 and the dealer gave me $15k trade in. Couple that with my X-plan and the new truck was $26K+/-. It pays to keep your ride in good shape, that includes your quads.

I like the color matched bumpers. I considered blacking my chrome ones or scoring a set of black ones. There is a company in Texas doing some sort of Ambulance conversions and they always have take-off parts on Ebay cheap. It is the shipping that kills the deal.

Most of my money goes into her or the Banshee. Right now I only have the chip coming and those two other little things.

Last night while I was out driving my left front wheel bearing started to go. So now I have to take my parents car to work until I get it fixed:(

Eventually will be running whatever chips, injectors, twin turbos, tranny, the whole bit:)

Sticker was a few pennies over $50K.

My wife works for a company who is set up with Ford so we buy at X-plan. No negotiating, set price.

It is crazy what they ask for these new trucks. A small country house was only $50k a decade ago. I could complain about it (some more) but I need a reliable rig for work. Without it my family and I go without.:(

Cut holes around the stacks in the cover. The cool thing is it's one of the tilt covers and it still tilts up the entire way.:D
