I want to be a little bit faster so i guess its time to upgrade a little. To go to a 416 what else should be done to be reliable. example Stage 2 Hotcam.. I ride mainly xc. Is their diff. compressions for this kit, if so which do you prefer and why, and what gas would you then use. Any brand better /more reliable than the other. I know its going to be as reliable as the install. Also, is this something that can be done without taking it somewhere if i'm decent with a wrench. And last, are there big differences between 408-416-426. What would you prefer? Thanks in advance

Talk to Colby at C&D, he can get ya all you need.
At a minimum I'd do a 10.8:1 with the stage two.
JE, Ross, and Wiseco are all good pistions
Extra items I'd add for reliability:
CRF cam chain
HD head studs
8-plate clutch kit
New Viton valve seals

I have a 416 now and love it. There isnt much difference in the three you listed. I am running the stage 2 hotcam and it performs great. I prefer JE or CP, but i have also used wiseco and they are great too. The most compression you can run with pump gas is 11:1. I have the sparks 12.5:1 and notice a little more torque than the 11:1, but not a whole lot. Hope this helps. If you need some more help with it let me know. Ive been running a 416 for 4 years now.

How much does it cost to get that installed? bcg717 did you pay to have that done? How big of improvement was it, how did it do with the *** dyno.

I was just wondering if you also did this.
CRF cam chain
HD head studs
8-plate clutch kit
New Viton valve seals

I havent done the crf chain, but probably will on my next rebuild. I do have HD studs. I am in the process of putting in a gt thunder 8plate clutch but i have been running the stock with ebc plates and hd springs for 2 or 3 years and havnt had any problems. And the only valve seals i have ever used were the oem valve seals.

i have a je 416 with the 10.8 to 1 with the crf cam chain and a stag 2 cam. i also have a 450r carb. it runs really well and i have never had any problums with my ebc clutch with the hd springs. i did pull a head stud though so i would take the cylinder to a machine shop and have them put in the bigger head studds. also i have the stock valves and springs but i plan on geting after market. not that i think that i need them but it is most likly a good idea
