Well the 05 kx250f's had a couple of problems while the 04 crf's I'm pretty sure had no problems. What are there mods list?

both are junk and will give you problems down the line

the only 4 stroke 250f's i would recomend to anyone is

2006+ yz250f
2006+ kx250f ( they tend to blow up alot easier )
2006+ crf250f ( solid allround bike )
07+ rmz250 (Solid all round bike with the best handling)
07+ ktm250sxf best bike hands down.

crf's eat valves too easy. My buddy went throught 2 sets this season on his 04 crf. Kxf's aren't bad, but 05's had overheat problems, but this can be solved by a simple rad. cap switch. Some say they had weak tranny's as well, but I've never seen/heard of any of them going bad in our district. 04 & 05 if I remember correctly the kxf and the rmz were the same, so parts interchange. 05 yzf's are great. 06's have awesome handling and power, but I had one for about 3 months and had some pretty bad clutch issues with it. It ended up eating the clutch basket pretty bad and the hub. I have seen that his tends to be the only downfall of the 06 yzf's and quite a few people online have had this problem. What is done to each bike? Personally I'd go with the kxf. I've just seen too many crfs eat a valve and too many frustrated owners coasting their bikes back to the truck.

kxf's have problems with the buckets hanging up in the bores and tearing up the cam. They actually started making Ti buckets.. Not really a problem, just a problem for one who doesnt mantain his valve train.

They have a case cracking problem. You would go to kick start it and the whole trans case would crack in half. Suzuki says its from improper kicking methods.

I'd go with a 07 up Kfx. I havn't heard anything bad about them.:chinese:

pj larsens kawi blew up at kroc
bubbas 450 locked up at the wick 06? i believe
rv's 450 locked up somewehre in 06 too.
stroupes kawi had preoblems at lorettas

and too many of my firends that have them got rid of them, most of them are switching to suzuki or honda.

as far as i know my friends have been:

previous bike - new bike / reason for switch

yamaha - honda / no reason
kawi - honda / his kawi blew up all the time
yami - suzuki / better handling
honda - suzuki / better handling

These are all 250f's

But those are just some cases. My buddy's 06 is great! Been rebuilt once after a season. No problems!

I have an 2005 crf250f and the only problem that I have had with it so far was the valves went once. All 250f's need to be maintained well because they are race engines and are so expensive to fix. Routine maintenance is necessary especially the air filter. If you are not prepared to take precautions such as cleaning the air filter after every time you ride, the bike will turn into a money pit. Other than that I love my bike. I have heard of a few problems with the kawi and suzuki before '06 but I haven't heard of too many problems with yamahas and hondas.

you gotta think though, pro riders are a tad harder on bikes than most people.

Just for me a crf would be the last resort.

I'd go with the 04 Crf. Its the best Crf Honda has made.
