Looking for a car is tough considering there are so many out there, some I havent even heard of. I've got like three main catigories I like, small sporty cars, big spacious cars, or a 4x4. So what do you think is like the top five from each catigory in USED cars that aren't too expensive, one I can pick up for like under 5 or 6k?

If thats all you can spend on a auto, I would save up more money. You living in the NE, you should look at something AWD or 4x4 and for 5-6k won't get you far. Personally, I would save up or consider a small loan. I don't know your situation (age, job ect..) but you don't want a auto that will be a money pit either.

Get a subaru WRX. Sporty, spacious, and AWD. Might be a little expensive tho.:o

i have a friend that picked up a dodge ram 1500 for 1500bucks and the only thing it needed was brakes and that was 3 years ago and he never had a problem with it. you just have to know what to look at. if you are looking for a 4x4 with room you should look at a jeep nice and last a long time my dad has a jeep for work its a 95 and has 170,000miles on it. the biggest thing he had to replace was the tranny and that was a 1000 dollars but that is Jmo

Like nofearrider1 said, a Subaru is great. You should look into the 1998-2001 Subaru Impreza 2.5 rs. They look awesome (like a true rally car) and carry that boxer rumble when you get an exhaust. You can even get STi kits for them and make them amazing looking. They have AWD, which is great in the snow, and they come in either 2 door or 4 door. This way, you can choose if you want it small or big. The best part though, is once you get a Subaru, you are part of a family. Other people always wave at you, come talk to you, and invite you to events and stuff. Just last night while I was at Target, I came back and a business card with WRXmodders.com on it was in my window. Even when I drive, fellow Subaru owners flash the lights or wave.

IMO, you can make a truck fairly fast, but you cant make a subaru tow a enclosed trailer. yeah, a subaru is fat, but big deal, the highest speed limit is 70. so now you have all the power you'll never use, and no way to move your quad

figure out what your prioritys are whether it be good gas milage to get to and from work/school or you need something to tow your bike. then take into consideration the weather and other factors about where you live and just make the best decision for your price range you may not get what you want now but later on down the road when you can afford to get a second car or a more expensive car then you can.
