I would say it wouldnt make it any less reliable.
Those blaster engines will last a good while with good servicing & keeping the rpms down.
The blaster engine is old school design, not high tech as others are today & you have to keep that in mind when operating them or building them.

If your going to go the 240 route, the CT Racing 240 top end kit is the best way to go for a bunch of reasons.

WE have a 1993 blaster with the CT sonic kit on it, and it rips. we race almost every weekend all year long, and has had no problems.this kit has been on our quad for 2 years. we use motul oil, and mix, also change the crank case oil every 2 races. we have done 2 topends during the year and its still on the stock 72mm bore. we run tt tracks. fast and hard. if you do a 240 kit talk to allen at ct.there customer service is top notch, and they will get you parts asap. all the rest are junk, good luck

ttracedad3,
Next time you talk to Allen, tell him that ol boy from North Carolinas got a 195cc legal CT jug engine pushing 35 HP & can pull some more out of it if we need to.

If you want to do wheelies and lookin for more power a 240 port and polish is abit expensive to pop the front end up.

if you service it reguarly and fresh gaskets and pistons then it will be fine. just dotn go vitos. there crap.

also if your going big bore get a stroker crank, evens the numbers out abit.

most guys find a 240 kit with a stock crank isnt as nippy as a stock barrel ported with a stock crank.
