this is a question that ive been wondering since my atv intrest picked up in 2002 but i never asked cause i didnt wanna seem like a moron but ill take that chance, now in the many types of racing there are like gncc or wpsa ect. why dont we see more raptors and outlaws and stuff out there is it because their not legal for one reason or another? because the race world is swamped with 450's and my guess will be for a long time and just quickly thinking you think a 525 or 700 of some sort is just plain more powerful than a 450...or is it?

thanks

The majority of racing series' have an Open class of some sort. Many even have an Open Pro.

Hell, some series' will allow a big-bore bike into a Production class..because there is no 450-under rule. Only some though.

Ive raced my dads 700 raptor several times.

Around here I raced the open C and production C...but none of the tracks I go to are AMA sanctioned.

They dont do that great IMHO. The torque of that big motor just got me in more trouble than anything. I suppose if you got really adjusted to it then you could tear people apart. All it wanted to do was oversteer and spin for me though.

I prefer the old school sexyness of my 440.

At my local track i race with Preds and Raptors all the time but i race unlimited class, so you can race any size you want, the Pred's and Raptors dont do that well though..
