i have a mikuni carb. i need to rebuild [ dumping gas] does any body know if they put these in 85' and 86' 250r models?? just got this bike and its SUPPOSE TO BE AN 86' but the caseings are black and the seat sez 250r so i think its a 85' and i notice most of these bikes have keihin carbs on them, do the mikuni carbs suck? any help is appreciated. btw killer forum!

they weren't stock any 250r's. People do use mukini tmx carbs on 250r's and other 2 strokes. The cases on 88/89 250r's were black too, the only year that had black cylinders was 85. First of it, is it a 4 wheeler or 3 wheeler, 85's only were 3 wheelers, 86 had both, and 87-89 only were 4 wheelers. Post pictures, we can tell you atleast what year frame you have. Post pics of the front and back motor mounts, also the side of the sub-frame.

thanks Deathman ,that helps alot, cylinder is black. its a 3-wheeler also. my digital camera's on the blitz but ill try & borrow to get pic's up. no tellin on my frame but my $ sez 85'.

I will be able to tell if you have a 85 or 86 frame, also. A picture of the close-up bike w/o the gas tank on is the only thing needed. Most of the other stuff will interchange with the 86 model, with the only difference being color, stronger footpegs on the 86 and suspension linkege parts and swingarm/carrier/brake stay related parts. And 86 stuff will go on them with a direct fit.
