i was readin a post online showing u how to take off all the junk on the bars. so i cut wires and connected the right ones. i turned the key and all the lights came as usual. then 2 wires that were hanging touched a bolt and kinda sparked and we turned the key off. ever since the fuel light and the other light will not turn on and it wont start. any suggestions.

check your fuses down by the battery. what did you do w/ the wires coming off the factory off/run switch?

Well there's your problem. you cant just eliminate that switch. if you wires arent connected and it wont start then try connecting them and it should start. Wouldnt it. if they arent connected its an open circuit. connect them to close the loop.

Do you have a tether kill switch that could have a loose/broken wire?

Unplugging wires is better than cutting.....Double check your fuses....I had something like that happen with the same symptoms (doing nothing at all) when turning the key and it turned out to be a fuse.....

Man I havent got mine here to look at any of the wiring. So im fresh out of help for you at the moment. The only thing I can tell you to do is hook everything back up and see if it will start then.

could grounding those wires out for a second have shorted out my CDI? if it's not the fuses, what else could it be?

He couldn't stand being slower so he fried your bike! Things people do out of jealousy, JK
I suggest getting new fuses anyways, it won't hurt. Only costs a few dollars to, Find the wires you cut, splice and make it into a closed loop.
