I ordered the ricky stator and light kit for my son's bike. It came nicely packaged and was a complete kit. No fabrication required on my part.
I do have one thing that has me puzzled. It has 6 tabs and only 5 have windings. Anyone have any idea why?
Seems if that last one was wound it would have more juice!

I can't....it's for Christmas. So until Christmas morning I can't install them or it will spoil his gift surprise!
You can bet I will post though after he opens it.

I just called Ricky Stator for some info on those lights. I wanted more than just two 20 watt lights, but was told that was it for that stator. I wanted to put a pair of 50 watt lights on it, because I didn't think the two 20's would be enough. I was told the two 20's would be comparable to stock banshee or 400EX lights. That should be very good lighting for the 90. Let us know how they work. :D

Hey guys,
I got it all installed. Had some problems with it. The illustrated instructions are a problem. I figured it out.
Anyway, here is a link to the pic of the kit

Yeah, it is actually a decent switch. It mount on the handlebar just like a factory one. Right next to the start button.
I will snap off a pic later.

How are they? Do they put out a good deal of light? What would you compare them to?

The lights are 20 watts each. So 40 watts total. A 2007 TRX250EX has a 39watt light, either high or low beam. So technically, the RickyStator kit is more light. The way cool part is that the lights are adjustable up, down, left, right. You can point one front and center low and the other front center high. Really good for trails at night. Or one center left and one center right for a wide view.
Kinda of better than my one non adjustable light on my bike!

Cool deal. I'd like to get a stator rewound for more than 40 or 50 watts. That's a lot of coin for 40 watts of light.

I agree with you COMPLETELY!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't quite understand why the old trx90 stator is 90watts and this model is 50watts.
I also do not understand why there is an ear on the stator with NO windings on it.
I learned something though. It is not fun to replace the stator and voltage regulator.

I have also heard removing and replacing the stator is not fun.

Note to anyone else doing this project.....
Make sure to use Lok Tite on the stator bolts!
We are now replacing the stator AND the Left side engine cover as both were destroyed.

I know it doesn;t come stock with loktite and Ricky Stator said they never recommended it because it came from the factory without it. Yeah, well, for 50 cents I could have saved 200bucks!
