How good are you?

I'll be honest, unless you have been boarding for more than 5 years, 30+ time a season, you don't need a Burton.

If you are just starting out, you can find a nice Lamar or Kemper for about half the price of a Burton, and they are still very solid brands that will give you years of service.

I would stay away from the really, really cheap brands, the kind of stuff that sells for $79. I've seen metal edges come loose, I've seen binding screws pull out of the threads. Stay away from the garbage.

But at the same time, there's no reason you need to spend $449 on a Burton board when you can't even utilize all it's features. For 90% of the riders out there, a $189 Lamar will give them all the performance they will ever need.

i boarded last year on my friends nitro but other than that im not realy a big rider. i mean if there boarding ill go use his board. but i want one of my own. ill only be going to the slopes once a week for about 3 months so i dont realy need a burton and dont realy want to spend that much money on a burton lol.
