racing w/ headlight?

can you race with a headlight my buddy told me you can't because of the glass but i wasn't sure

The outside is plastic not glass. I raced with mine, and they didn't say anything. I guess it could be different where you are from, but I've never heard of it.

yeah as far as i know you can. maybe it depends on what kind of racing but if ya look at pictures from like gncc and some motocross reaces lots of beginner racers still have headlights on theirs.

places may let you race with the headlight. I've seen afew guys put big pieces of elecrical tape over the light so it doesnt shatter on the track.

Well in my experience you are allowed to race with headlights, never heard otherwise due to the safety plastic housing (not glass) they are almost impossible to break. (not impossible but almost) I did an indo at about 40mph on a road and went a little to far the only thing that happened at that high of a force was a couple chips outta plastic. no breaks or cracks and I cant say that about the renthal bars i had on which snapped on impact. So in order to break a headlight on a dirt mx track anyway you would have to be at about top speed and slam into a light pole or something. p.s. the indo left me with road rash from shoulder to hand some spots i needed a skin graph.

I had to put black electrical tape to cover mine.Its coming off and im replacing the hood for this winters rebuild;) I bought this in Carbon look and it looks as go as a quadtech.Cant beat it for the price.

i race with my headlight but i sometimes cover it with electrical tape

i take mine off when i race and put my maier race nose on. i have raced with it on there and a few times my hand has accidentally switched on the light. kinda makes you look like a dumba**

so you can, i want to do some mx and maybe some other stuff if its around i live in like southern PA.

so you guys have never herd of having to take your headlight out to race thats cool cuz i like to ride at night sometimes and i didn't want to have to take my headlight out and have that big hole in the front every time i race i guess i could get one of those hoods 30 bucks that sounds good

I've seen many race mx with the headlight. If your looking for something to replace the stock hood with real carbon fiber, I offer this hood.

Does your hood mount the same as stock?
