check for any air leaks in your pipe, when i got my new pipe i had a air leak causing it to backfire on deccel, and my friends 400 was sputering when ever he hit the throttle and that was caused buy a bad connection to the spark plug cap.

the pipe is fine but i might have to check that spark plug it never use to do it but like maybe a couple of time when i installed it then it stopped now its doing it could it be the air/fuel mixture screw I have messed with that a little???

yea it could be the screw i never messed with mine, you will have to get it back to stock settings and go from there. it might be the plug though, because most people pull there spark plug cap off by the wire WHICH YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO DO and it loosens the wire after a while and it makes the connection bad.

no....the spark plug cap just screws onto the end of the wire...........righty tighty, lefty loosey.... :)

also check to make sure the intake boot is still connected to the carb properly.........sounds like an air/fuel mixture problem to me.

if thats not it you can mess around with your jetting and see if that changes anything or like 3punksdad said check your air boot, and check your intake manifold an see if the carb is seeted properly in both.
