Quick question

I pulled the stock head pipe off my 400ex. When I put it back on do I need to put new gaskets on it? The original ones didn't fall out, so am I ok just sticking the pipe back on?

i never put new gaskets. Changed between stock and aftermarket for a while now, and as long as you tighten them pretty good without over tighting them, you shouldnt have leaks. I dont and these are the same gaskets since new!

You can use the old ones but sometimes, not always, but sometimes you will have an exhaust leak there if you dont change them. They are around $2 each and the dealer usually has those in stock.

the thing to remember when using the old gasket is to make sure that the flang on the pipe is good and square with the gasket before completely tightening things down. this holds true when using a new gaslet aswell. :cool:
