The other day on my 400ex I kinda wheelied on one wheel and threw me off and it came down on its side and hit the bars and just snapped the whole right side of my bar off. I had renthal bars on. Are they that easy to brake? Also is there better bars that wouldnt brake so easy?

Well if you get stronger bars, your going to move the stress point to another part of the quad, so do the math and figure out what part would be cheapest to replace after a hard crash....either way something is going to bend/break. I personally chose to run Pro Taper Bars (very strong) w/ the stock steering stem....my Bars cost cost $90 and a stock stem is $60...I can almost guarantee the steering stem will bend/break before the bars do so for me that works out ok.

if u have expensive bars then u will bend the stem. if u get a stronger stem u can risk messing up the frame. if u get a new frame ur broke and can never ride again. I would buy nice bars and just let the stem keep bending. my $3.43

True, but your not changing stems on a daily basis. I seen Renthal and similar bars break just on a hard landing....the oversize bars aren't going to do that ;)

VERY TRUE! I RUN THE SAME SETUP AS YOU DO. STEERING STEMS CAN BE SWAPPED SOMETIMES QUICKER THAN BARS.(EX: BETWEEN MOTOS) I HAVE A HOLE DRILLED IN MY SKID PLATE TO QUICK ACCESS THE BOTTOM NUT AND COTTER PIN-TWO TIE ROD NUTS- AND 8 BOLTS UP TOP. NO NEW GRIPS TO DRY EITHER! :D WORKS FOR ME!

I PRACTICE TOO MUCH, I CRASH ALOT :D
