Whats the best exhaust for a 300EX?

Generally the sparks x4 is about the best for the 300. Supertrapp would be my second choice and it is much cheaper as well. The HMF full system is just as good but a little pricey. Make sure you get a full system instead of just a slip on though...the headpipe is very restrictive.

Thanks! Curtis Sparks huh? Where is a good place to purchase, I can't find hardly any places when I googled it. . .

What about White Bros. pipe?

Go down a couple forums to C&D Racing. Put up a post and they will give you a quote. ;) Support those who support us.

The Sparks X-4 is a very very nice pipe (I run the old style). I'd grab the modular quiet core and spark arrestor. You can open her up when you need power.. or quiet her down when you are cruising the trails.

The full system X-4 last time I checked was $399?

There's a lot of pipes that are great on the 300ex, but the Sparks is my favorite.

sparksracing.com to browse. But, check with C&D before you order. ;)

IMO don't get a sparks unless you're racing. If you trail ride mainly I'd pick up a Yoshimura RS-3 Comp series full system. You can get one for under 450 dollars and it gives you great gains and is quieter with no sound loss or power loss.

The new generation of Sparks pipes can be made pretty dang quiet. Toss in the quiet cores and they aren't nearly as loud. Toss in the super-quiet and they are much quieter. ;)

Yoshimura's are also great pipes. Just a bit more expensive.

The WB E-Series is also a good pipe. Top end of mid-pack. He was asking what are the best pipes for the 300ex. But honestly on a stock motor.. it really doesn't matter too much as long as you open up the flow. Just stay away from Cobra and DG Krome (the high end DG's are fine). Always get a header and silencer on the 300ex if you want max flow.

Another good option is a White Brothers header w/ an HMF Slip-on. Much cheaper than the HMF Full pipe and comparable power to the rest on a semi-stock machine.

Yeah, I just picked up a 1987 250x...it has a Cobra Jet exhaust system on it. It gives great power through all gears, a big improvement but it is really loud! and there is no "silencer" available.
I want a system that is QUIET and powerful !!

I am really happy with my FMF Q2 header and muffler. Good tone without being real loud. Much better pull through the entire RPM range, great mid range pull. Good tuning info on their web site also.
