Well i wanted to upgrade my front 450r shocks so i decided on this set up... works triple rate springs - I just put them on last weekend the ride is very smooth, have not had a chance to hit a jump to see how they hold up, but I did get what i was looking for lowering the front end - it lowered it about 1.75" (got rid of the mad spider look) and yes it did make it a bit wider - Im at 52.5" wide now. I have not had a chance to dial them in yet (any input) but just thought i would post up to get some feedback. Anybody else done any stock shock mods - post them would like to see them.

Nice, what year 450 shocks did you use??? I have 06's on mine with +2's w/ no pre load with the adjusters soft and i still can barley push the front end down. Did you have this problem? I think06+ shocks are longer then the 04-05's.

mine are 06 and they are the same size 04 thru 07 , and yes your right even w/no pre load they are stiff - thats why i went to this setup for one it lowered the front end and made it pretty easy to push down - hitting the trails is a lot softer ride now.

They are a huge improvement over the stock 400 shocks. I have them as low as they will go because it works better on our track. Our buddys dairy farm is about 1000 acres of tracks and trails and there are no huge jumps. Alot of high speed corners and hills and a few jumps. Its a horsepower track since the farms owner has a yfz450. I have the compression all the way soft and rebound is about 25% over soft. I can get him through the corners but its really close in the straights (for a while anyways, never challange an ex-pro drag racer)
