Well i wanted to upgrade my front 450r shocks so i decided on this set up... works triple rate springs - I just put them on last weekend the ride is very smooth, have not had a chance to hit a jump to see how they hold up, but I did get what i was looking for lowering the front end - it lowered it about 1.75" (got rid of the mad spider look) and yes it did make it a bit wider - Im at 52.5" wide now. I have not had a chance to dial them in yet (any input) but just thought i would post up to get some feedback. Anybody else done any stock shock mods - post them would like to see them.

The spring kit is a nice add on, I would save up and have them revalved and set up properly. There is a few more modifications that need to be done to make the shocks work even better. Talk to Colby from C&D and I am sure he will hook you up. You will see some difference in fine tuning now, but nothing like you will after they are revalved. Also, save up and get the rear redone and you should have a really nice setup.

Is that a combinations of wheel spacers and flipped rims? It would handle worlds better if you had some 4:1 rims or even 3:2 without spacers. Also its hard to tell exactly how much it lowered it by the pics since you have two different sets of tires on. Looks clean though other than the balljoints and spindles sticking out a mile from the wheels.

well the setup is viper 2+ a-arms with 1.5 front spacer with regular ITP rims, yea thinking about loosing the spacers the front is wide enough without them, i posted a new pic.... top one this is a better comparison, but i did measure all before a tore in to it. yea balljoints and spindles sticking out are a little funky but thats the rim setup. THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT , ANY OTHER SUGGTIONS DAILING THEM IN, and i do have a elka dual rated rear spring i am installing it next weekend to the stock 400ex rear shock. so will see what that does for the overall ride. mak

Depending on which Elka dual rate kit you have, it may make the rear way to stiff, and it may be to long to fit on the shock. As far as dialing them in, just take the adjusters all the way to slow rebound and soft compression and just ride it a little and then make adjustments in small increments. Adjust the compression, then adjust the rebound. Also be sure you have a good ride hieght, I like the front no more than 1/4" higher than the rear.
