Just to let you all know, if the road is glare ice, 4WD DOES NOT MEAN YOU CAN STILL FLY DOWN THE ROAD!!!! IN ice 4wd does not help! If your driving 60MPH!!!

I witnessed/stopped/was at many accidents this weekend due to careless 4WD drivers. Some people are lucky I keep a good eye on the ditches at night for rolled vehicles.

I love driving past stuck 4wd's on the side of the road in my wifes GTI fitted with Bridgstone Blizzaks. Its nice going up steep snowy hills in Pgh that 4wd could not make - I'm sure it makes quite a few scratch their head... :D

It still amazes me the majority of people overlook their tires and think because they have 4wd they do not need good tires...

i see just as many 4x4 off the road, upside down, in the ditch than 2wd. here on long island, people are just flat out STUPID.

last winter i was on the way to school in a snow storm and a guy blew by me in a 4x4 explorer..10seconds later i witnessed him lose it and do a 720 right off into the grass. funny stuff.

I know what you mean. In college one of my roommates was from Long Island who had an 4x4 SUV. Everything was closed with this big ice storm. She decides it won't affect her since she has 4 wheel drive. I try explaining that the 4x4 only helps you get going. The 4x4 does nothing to help with steering or stopping. Basically that she was really no safer and had no more control than almost any other car on the road. She didn't get it.

I drove on a sheet of ice on the way to a party sat. night. I had to walk down a hill to the party n i saw some big dually ford stuck in a ditch. I chuckled n said good luck. then a Penndot truck rolls up n asks me if i need help. Im like nah but that guy does. Then he got stuck on the hill. I laughed so hard.

Well that's simple, 'cause if they are dumb enough to buy a Ford they don't know enough to take it easy on bad roads. :D

Sorry, you left it wide open for a comment. lol

ice driving is fun if your an experienced driver. When i go out with my dad he slides around corners all the time on purpose. Just dont be a retard and go 60mph or slide if your a sucky driver.

If you really know how to drive, snow and ice can be fun:D
