does anyone here know anything about putting holes in a airbox lid, can i just drill holes and leave them at that or do i have to fill them in with a screen or something, i really want to do this, but i also dont want to mess anything up.

I've got a custom vented lid. I don't have anything that covers the vents, as long as it isn't dusty. But for the times when it is dry and dusty I use an old T-shirt and cut a section out a little bigger than the box. Than I lay the cloth over the air box and clamp the lid on top of that. I also clean my KnN after every 3rd ride, I only have time to ride for a couple hours at a time. If I'm going to ride in the rain or mud, I do the same with a plastic bag.

i have uni airbox vents, they are very cool. The are 1inch round thingys that like a "filter" in it. You drill a one inch hole. Slip these bad boys in there and there u go. Also you can drill holes in your lid, and get some like window screen and glue it in there underneath the holes.
