Sorry for the stupid question, but I'm looking at a Z400 at a honda dealership. It is used and was raced in hare scrambles. They told me the previous owner kept up on the maintenance, but when I pulled the dipstick from the oil tank, the oil was barely on the end of it. On my Honda's, you have to get the engine warmed up for a few min., then shut it off and let it sit for a couple min., then check the oil level. Is that how you check the Z's? Thanks

yes, if it has been sitting for awhile some of the oil can run back into the motor. check it without screwing the dipstick in.
