this is the hill the yota, the XJ, and the CJ could not make it up. he only had to hit it once, never let off. trust me, it is alot worse in person than it looks in these pics.

it was a blast. i have tons more pics. over 200 in all. none of these were even of my ride for the day, a 1979 for f150 with tractor tires. by the end of the day, we broke alot of stuff. when the guy launched the bronco he bust teh front diff, my ride lost the oil drain plug, actually ripped it out on a stump. the blue yota threw the front driveshaft. two ended up on the roof today, a few on their sides.

hahah before I even got to the end, I was saying to myself I bet that bronco D44 didn't hold up. Time to go junkyarding or aftermarket.

What are all you guys running for front axles? That XJ was probably running a D30 I would imagine. I would love to do some heavier wheeling in my truck, but my stock D28 snaps like a
fu(king tooth pick with my 35's, so I can't really go too hard until I swap in my 44. Plus the junkyards are running out of D28 axle shafts haha, I have most of them.

Nice pics though!

Awesome pics! My XJ had a 30 up front and 35 in the rear.

just curious how much you're asking? I have about 5 or 6 D44's just laying around that I was thinking of selling.

well the one bronco already has a D60 up front. the one that broke is putting in a 60 to replace teh 44 he snapped.

we don't need spares. the guys who own teh bronco's have fields full of parts trucks. i think they have 3 complete trucks just for parts. and other misc. parts just laying around.

yeah the Xj had a stock chrysler 8.25 out back with the stock D30 up front. the f150 i rode in had a stock 44 up front an a 9" in the back.

got my truck home sunday. a 78 chevy K10. i will get pics of it up later this week as the build begins. plans are 36 or 38" swampers, remover the bed and front fenders adn keep it pretty much factory height except for a 3" body lift. have to have the body lift since it is a2wd cab ona 4wd chassis, low tranny tunnel. hackj off as much front and rear frame as i can to help angles, build some bumpers and a cage for it, do a little work to the 350 in it, drop in my np203 t-case. when the axles snap(as i know they will lol) i already have a spare set for it. then when those go it will get a 14FF out back and a D60 up front.

D60's are kinda hard to come by around here. Atleast at a reasonable price. I'm going to run my HD 44 with 50 knuckles, CTM lifetime U joints, and CTM 10 year shafts. If it breaks, carry a spare, send the broken one back, and get a new one. 9'' are good axles. Good to 4 link on too. I have 5 or 6 9'' around here, but my axle that will be going under the truck will be a sterling 10.50. Haha, I too have a small junk yard. Most of it sits in my shed/garage/basement. We just stripped a 92 ranger so I'm looking kinda decent on parts as of now.

My brother just picked up 2 1/2 ton rockwells for his ranger. Won't be in for a while until the funds save up, but it'll be accompanied with a 460 and atleast 44's.

Hey underpowered, you plan on doing a doubler at all? You could do a nice 203/205 doubler and have one kick *** low range. Also, you ever think of running a GM 14 bolt in the rear? Probably a little cheaper than a D60 if the funds are tight.

well not plannin of doing a doubler. it would be cool and all, but for the trails/mud around here i don't need that low of gear. not to much rockcrawling in this area, the one good spot for it got closed. you can still take licensed trucks down there, but nothing without a tag.

although i do have a 205 and a 203 around here. that would be awesome.

and yeah, i plan on a 14 bolt full floater out back with the D 60 up front. i have a 14FF somewhere out of an older truck. i would have to find a D 60 but i know a few guys.

My house is kinda mini junkyard to, even for motorcyles. we have gotten rid of alot of stuff actually. just kept parts we would need.

haha I know the feeling. Yah most of the stuff I have is ranger stuff and some f150/bronco. That's where I got my 44's and 50 ttb.
