Noisey valves

I have a 2002 400ex....have ajusted the valves several times and even had them done by a mechanic.....they are noisey,,,sound loud for normal.....everyone keeps saying it is normal....well is it?
Just seems to me they should be quieter?:confused:

I can't say for sure if its normal becuase i havn't heard yours, but yes the ex does run noisy, i too have a 2002 400 and when i first got it i thought that it was the valves making that noise but after i got them adjusted it did the same thing and that was months ago and it still runs great.... i wouldn't worry about it as long as it runs right when your riding it...just my .02

Well I will tell ya the more people that tell me not to worry about it......the better I will feel......just dont want something to go wrong on it.....my first quad and learning as I go....dont want to learn the hard way.....someone also said to run a heavier oil in it?
dealer told me to run 10w 40?.Thanks

yea i was the SAME way..as far as oil run Mobil 1 15w-50 a lot of guys run it and its a fair price, feel free to pm me if you have n e questions, i know what its like to be a new owner of a quad :D good luck with it

i use mobil 1 15w-50 in my 300ex and it works good for me.
