Hey i have a question about what i can do for my exhaust header. While out riding i noticed my header on my exhaust burned a hole in my 150$ riding pants. i know there is something out there that i can wrap around it to help the heat escape without having to ride with my leg sprawled out. If you can help me thanks''

but is it bad to be drilling into the exhaust header if it doesnt have holes for a heat shield. its an HMF exhaust and im not about to start drilling where drilling doesnt need to be done

you dont need to drill into the header. i have a moose carbon fiber heat shield that has hose clamps to go around the header

Yup, use hose clamps, your local hardware store should sell them, bull some smaller ones.

I just wrapped mine in black exhaust wrap. It looks pretty sweet too. To keep it from rusting I first painted it with 1200 degree paint. It still gets warm, but you can grab the wrap after a hard ride and not get burnt. total cost was like 60 bucks and 2 hrs of work.

Here are a bunch of pics. I went to Advanced Auto and bought the 1.5 inch black header wrap for like $50. Along with that you have to buy the wrap, protective spray, and the metal straps to secure the wrap. To keep the pipes from rusting under the wrap when it gets wet I stripped the exhaust and spray painted it with 1200 degree paint from Home Depot. The only thing you need to be careful of is not to spray the wrap directly with a power washer so the protective coat doesn't come off. It's really easy to do to your exhaust and it looks great and even cleans up really easy. Good luck man.
