I have a bare performance kit and it looks good, the fit was good. I had a local welding shop rip me off. quoted me for 60 bucks for welding it in and when it came down to picking it up raped me for 150.00. I would send your frame to a company and have your powdercoating/gusseting all done at the same place.

I have over 500.00 just into my frame. for powdercoating and gusseting.

I do all the welding my self, thats why i was just wondering if its worth even getting the kit or to go ahead and fab some gussets myself.

I looked at the bare kit and soem of the gussets look like they would be hard to make ,especially the boomerang looking one. Do any of you guys have pics of you 400s with the bare kit installed? THNX

fab gussets urself. dont go crazy and ad 50lbs to ur quad just get teh high stress points. if you have propegs weld a propeg mount up while ur at it. i think im doing that this winter. all i have to do is cut out a stensil and i know a guy that can cut it out on the cnc plasma cutter.

lol yeah, i built it in my cousin's basement (where I was living at the time) I bought a house this fall that has a garage that's not insulated or heated, yet. so some engine parts are working there way back into the house. luckily i can set up my basement for building engines, it's not finished and i have a nice size heavy duty table to do it on now. Finally have a place to store my quad now though. It's worth more than my car so it gets the garge :p
