View Full Version : What to do to the bike for the winter??

Hey this is my first winter with my MX yfz450...i was tryin to sell but i'm gunna keep it i guess...I have no clue what to do to winterize it.....can someone please hellp me out? I had 2 strokes before and i usually just kept them in my garage with a cover without draing the fluids...Does anyone have any advice??? thanks in advance!!

BUY MINE FOR ICE RACING OR AS A PRACTICE BIKE:Oh I never drained fluids in any of my 4strokes ...I always rode them on the Ice

I have a 04 yfz with the following parts on/with it:

*The motor is stock
*Frt wheels-douglas red labels
*Rear wheels-Itp

On the quad are:These parts have less than 20 MINUTES on them
**Full yoshimura race system
**Race cut White carbon fibre maiers w/ duncan graphics
**Full belly skid plate
**A arm skids
**Pro Armour Nerfs w/ heel guards
**Ktm Handlebars

Not on the quad but still in new package:
**Set of Turner Handlebars
**Magura Hydraulic Clutch
**Duncan gripper seat cover

Plus I have the full set of blue plastics
Stock exhaust
Stock frt bumper

nah thanks, thanks for the info tho!! i'm just gunna keep all my liquids in there and then take the carb out lean it and put it in and i wont start it until the srping time!!!

I think it be fine if you just started it like 1 every couple of weeks. Let it run for like 10-20min.

I don't do anything to my but throw some sheet metal screws in the tires and let her rip on the ice. Nothing compares to some good ice ridding. You should try it if you get a chance.
