I called my insurance company (state farm) they will insure it for theft but it will only be valued as an 86 trx250r...is there anyway to insure these quads for all the extras put into it so if you have a quad worth lets say 6000.00 that it can be insured for that amount? I explained to them that I wanted to insure it for 6000.00 and they said I cannot enter a value, it goes by what its valued at in like the bluebooks

I live in Canada so it is probably different. It will probably also differ depending on what company you use. I was told that I would get blue book value for mine, unless I could prove that others with the same mods were going for more. So if mine is stolen I will have to lllok around and show them these prices.
Hope that helps,

Sam

A friend of mine has his insured for a specific amount. I'll find out from what place.

You should be able to get an appraisal to change the value (like classic cars).

Showing receipts can sometimes help as well.

Anyone find a place? I tried places like Hagerty, but I can only get collision on mine, nothing that covers theft.

What about for an aftermarket frame? I have a Laeger, but it doesn't have the data plate anymore. State Farm won't insure it at all.

just for fun i pulled up my progressive account and tried to do a quote and it gives the option for "Accessory coverage". Not sure if that's just for collision or if it covers theft too. It also gave me the option for aftermarket frame.

I need call American Family and find out myself. I just spent a small fortune rebuilding my 250r and would hate to see that get stolen, it would be devasting to me...

I'm with ING and they just asked me what it was worth and had it set at that amount. Also i had a grizzly stolen from me that had lots of aftermarket parts, and they gave me blackbook for the quad and then I faxed them all my receipts and they took 20% off them and added it to the book price.

All my bikes are insured for set amounts...I use All State. No apprasel need. They ask you for the amount you desire, then provide you the cost at that amount...just need to send them a picture of each bike every 12 months

I got Progressive for my 400ex and my 250r with full coverage for 1 year and it was $270. It has $3000 accessory coverage included for each vehicle. I was told you can get more but you will need receipts

I called Geico for a quote on my HD and they wanted twice what Allstate charged, so stuck with Allstate, my buddy has
Liberty Mutual on everything and saved a ton of $$, I might
switch to them when mine runs out.

I called Allstate, Liberty Mutual, Farm Bureau, Geico, Progressive.....

They will only cover the cash value of the bike if stolen.. (maybe $500??) because its over 10/20 years old. That doesnt help me at all since i have a ton of money into the bike.

How is everyone getting an agreed value policy?

That seems odd that you an into that with state farm, because I have my '86 insured with them for fire, theft and collision for $100 a year. My agent asked me for what the replacement cost of the machine would be, as well as a list of the aftermarket items I have on it and there you go. They then asked that if the replacement cost changes, to notify them and they will file the paperwork to change the policy pay-out price. I believe I have mine at $5800 now.
