on magic racing.com they have an ice racing combo. i think it is cheng shin tires and a set of spikes for your tires

Would Turf Tamers on beadlocks work too?

Those tires seem to have the same tread pattern...im guessing that they just have a hard carcass?

turf tamers should work. I think they have a lower profile. if that helps in ice racing?

Turfs are terrible. Get the cheng shins. If a non-studded class you need a tire cutter to put sipes in the tread. A LOT of them.

18s are the best to use. turftamers do not work well for ice racing the knobs are too soft and you will pull out studs easy. with the chengshins i run the 3/4 inch kold kutter studs one full season on them and they still hold air. as for the fronts i like the maxxis razors didnt have a sing stud pull out and they hooked up great. if you were to run rubber the pro wedges or the 4snow tires work good. if its an outlaw class get some flat track tires softest compound you can get put them in tire softener and slice the hell out of them to where the rubber comes off just by running your fingers across them, thats what the pro class guys do and they run just as fast as the studded guys.

Turfs will throw every screw you have in. They are way too soft. Cheng shins are by far the best for the rears. And for fronts you should use bandits. They also have a hard compound and they are flatter to make full contact with the ice surface.

Since you are in canada , I have a friend that can sell you a set of tires , race ready. He does tires for almost every pro in the national ice championship here. He use the cheng shings and razr cross in front with the new MF44 screw.

Read through the newest issues of QUAD magazine. i just skimmed it, but in the begining in the tips section, theres was a lot about winter riding- setup, storage, tire studding, etc.... i dont know for sure what it was all about but id imagine it would help you out a little

You should check with KIDS ON QUADS, they have 2 time pro national ice racing champion Daniel Bergquist riding for them.
