i have an 06 yfz that pushes coolant to the recovery bottle as soon as it starts getting warm. my fan sill comes on and the motor never seems to get much above 190 degrees. I can fill the radiator up get all the air out of it and leave the recovery bottle below the low mark and when im done riding the bottle will be almost full and the radiator will be way down. the temp light rarely comes on but i still would like to fix the problem. i just replaced the water pump seal because there was a little bit of oil getting into the water, but it was doing the same thing before too.

Sounds like you may have a bad head gasket.

If the head gasket was blown, shouldnt there be coolant in the oil ?

Not necessarily. You could have blown the seal between the cylinder wall and the water jacket in the cylinder. Thus pushing air into your cooling system. Once that pressure happens it pushes the coolant out and into the bottle.

Thanks..The motor is down for a fresh piston and hotcams so hopefully new gaskets will do the trick.
