1. what would win in a drag race, mx race, and woods race. a 250r with and lrd pipe,silencer, k and n filter, boysen reeds, jetting ,and ram valve or a stock raptor.

2. then what would win a 250r wit that stuff verse a raptor with pipe,filter, and jetting in woods, drag, and mx race thanks

I say the raptor in the woods for both. The 250r in motorcross. I have no clue on draggin'.

how could the rap win in woods i thought the 250r has better handeling and power if its modded. also then what can i get instead of my 400ex so hardly anyone can beat me in a drag, woods and mx race thanks

Go with the R, you can mod it to be the best for whatever you want.

well my bro has a raptor and when he just had a pipe and k&n he would smoke this 250r in town that has kehin carb pipe k&n with no air box and geared down

Ived drag raced a piped, jetted airfiltered 02 raptor, b4 with my R and we both had 18s with stock gearing. It was close on takeoff, he would hang right with me,(hes 40 punds or more lighter than me too) I really couldnt pull much on him and i was surprised, but when I was a bike length or 2 ahead in 5th he was topped out, and I shifted to 6th and left him. My motor is essentially a stock motor with bolt on mods, no porting or whatever, stock cyl.

MX theres no comparsion, the R is hands down the winner.

Posts like this are kinda of useless. because it all depends on the rider. and you can't say. What would the pro riders choice because you can build a 250r from the ground up with aftermarket parts. So its exactly how they want it. All these things will change because of the pro production classses. You will see many top riders going over to these classes. But a 250r is a better Mxer hands down. But you have to be skilled enough to use them right or they are not the best, the 400ex would be becasue of is rider friendlyness. A raptor has to much power for the geometry, Those things are so scurly out on the tracks in stock form. Two of my cousins have them. and i have had an R and a Ex, and a Banshee. THe banshee is good for going straight thats about it.

SO WHAT SHOULD I GET ALL I WANT IS A REALLY POWERFUL FAST AND GOOD HANDELING QUAD. I MIGHT WANT A USED CANNONDALE. BUT I WANT LIKE UNCONTROLLABLE POWER THATS AAWESOME THANKS

Just look for a modded 250r, or buy an R and mod it yourself.

anyway, really, an R isnt exactly a wheelie machine, it can be done, but its not like a 400ex, just ride an R, and ul find all the arm rippin whatever u want

My Brother's 250 will leave my Dad's Raptor way behind, but his whole Motor is new and built like a Pro MX Motor.

Yeah its VERY VERY easy to get an R to pump out around 50 hp. And its 2 stroke power, it would kill a Raptor in prob. any kind of racing. Except maybe in the mud

I think everyone here has probably pushed a wheelbarrow. That is close to the experience you get from riding a banshee....it handles like a wheelbarrow...

What is the powerband of an R like? Does it hit hard? What are R's w/ powervavles like? A more smoothed out powerband? W/ different mods like different types of pipes, can you change when and where the powerband hits?

Raptor was REAL quick, had a CT sonic pipe and some other stuff
250r was quick too...thats why it won! :D

stock type clyinder R = hard hitting, 2stroke power

PV cylinder R = smooth, almost 400ex like power


changing the pipes can move the power hit in the revs, change the power, make it a rev motor, bottom end motor, etc, pipes change alot
