Rigging a lighter

i just bought a lil electric start lighter and i wanna take the silver flame guard off to adjust flame size but i cant seem to get it off can any one help

Flat head screwdriver perhaps?:ermm:

I always use a knife to take off the guard and crank it up to a crack lighter.

do you pry off the head though? i dont wanna ruin the guard cuz the lighter looks dumb without it i wanna put it back on after adjust the flame

Just pry each side off a little at the time.

Dont go apeshlt on it and kill it.

Just pry at the back sides of the guard. It will bend a little and come off, then bend it back on after you adjust it. If it's and adjustable lighted you will need to pop the adjuster off the little gear so you can crank it up all the way.

You're lucky you're talking to the worlds biggest pyro. Find me a pic of the lighter on google or something and I can tell you how to rig it.

theres gotta be a way to ressmble this but theres this weird little black squarish thing thats stopping me from putting it together

Its probably the lever from the button you held down to let gas out.

Throw it away and stick with the 50 cent ones from the gas station.

Lol, been there. It might be the safety if it has one. Mine did, it was a little thing you had to slide while you click. That was the first thing to go.

Go get one of the ones with the slide on the front...then pop the cover off and twist it until its where you want it.

I had one that I worked on for like 30 minutes and it shot a flame that was almost 2 foot tall. Though it live for like 3 minutes...lol.

it doesnt work as good tho now ill just buy a new 1 when i can at least i got 1 for now tho
