garmin and tomtom are two of the best along with Mcmillan(sp?) i believe there called, you can pick up a nice garmin for under 200, same with mcmillan, even though tomtom, are a little more...

Magellian and Garmin have the exact same maps in them...They are slightly more detailed then TomTom....G and M have about 6 million points of interest TomTom has a bout 5 million...What are you looking for in terms of features? Text to Speech? Bluetooth? MP3 player? Basic to advanced all have the same maps and POIs its a matter of features you are looking for..

Nuvi 350 is $299 at Circuit...or it was for a few days after Thanksgiving. I have this one. I got it after my wife took my Nuvi 660 widescreen. I actually prefer the smaller unit.

The Nuvi 200 widescreen is nice too. The screen appears to be clearer than my 350.

Our 660 has bluetooth. Nice feature having your phone directory appear on the Nuvi for easy dialing. Talking through the speaker phone setup is okay. I really don't talk much on the phone while in the car so that isn't a big feature to me. Neither is having an mp3 player. I am not going to carry a big GPS around for the mp3 player when others exist that are much smaller. I definitely am not updating 2 different devices with music either. My Nuvi 350 has mp3 but I don't use it.

Can't help you with the other units since I've never used them.

BTW, it is $70 a year to update your Garmin maps. I think there are units out there that don't make you pay to update. Seems like the Tom Tom might have been one of the ones that provides free updates to the maps. I would check on this. This would be a big benefit.

What are you going to use it for? Seems everyone is assuming he's talking about a street nav GPS for a car--which may be the case but he didn't say.
