Well it all depends on what you do. The X-6 if you read about it is for quads with highly modified engines. You can still use one, but you won't see much difference between the two. The X-4 is much better for what you have right now IMO! ;)

my vote is the x-6. I've had mine for about 3 years and love every second I start it. My mods are

400 ex
sparks x-6, cdi box, air filter, carb(recently), advance key

i had a X-6 on my 400 and loved the power, and especially the deep sound. the only complaint is i lost the end cap after i re-packed it. rivets didnt hold too great.

X-6 you won't regret it especially when you go to do motor work.

stock bore - 416 i say x4, 426+ i say x6. my friend ran just an HMF slip on with a 440 and it was crazy fast, a full system would really unleash the power. any curtis sparks is so much bigger/ better than the other exhaust you could run the x4 in a 440, you just wouldnt get the full engine potential

i would get a x-6, you wont be able to tell between the two. even if its like a hp difference, and if you have plans for later, you will already be set, and if you bought the x-4 then you would be kickin your @$$ if you ever build extreme 400ex with like a 500 kit on it. haha.

i have the x-6 on my 465 stroker and it produced great #'s on the dyno. much like everyone else says it sounds great throughout the rpm range especially up top in my opinion. i would say go with the x-6 if you have future plans for bore and what not. you might not see a huge gain now, but if you do end up building a motor you will be happy you went with the x-6.
