I have a 2005 TRX450R. I also have some white TRX450R 08 plastic. I need to know if I use my stock fender mounting brackets or do I need to get different ones? Please let me know what I need to get. Thanks

It should mount right up. I was using an 04/05 hood and it didn't really fit all that great but I made it work.

I know all the plastics will line up in a usable form. But I didnt know if I have to use any of the 06-08 mounting hardware or not.

I think the only thing you may need is the plastic piece that goes under the gas tank. It is different on the 06 and up and so the 06-08 rear plastic attaches to it differently. You could prolly get by without it, but that should be only difference.

Ya thats the main thing I see people change when they do it.

also, since your 05 has a kicker, there will be no kicker slot in the plastics will there? never looked on the newer bikes to be honest

The electric starts don't come with this slot correct, so you can't use a direct take off rear plastic. You can get the other colors besides red with a slot for the kicker usually from your dealer.

I have an 05 with the white 07 plastics with kicker slot.. everything lines up except the plastic heat shield under the tank. All you need to do is this. On the right side of the shield, pull the rubber grommet out were the 05 fender went in.. then just pop the 07 fender into it. On the left side you will have to get creative or just use a zip tie. OR you can get the JB tank support, the LSR fender braces, or get an 06+ heat shield.

does anyone have the part number for that shield, I tried looking it up through service honda but all the part numbers were the same for all the years. Can someone else go look, or if you know the number on hand, can you post it. Thanks

Also Would getting the Maier White plastics for the 05 450r work just as well? You wouldnt have to order the shield then. Im getting ready to swtich to white plastics and looking for the best brand.

^that part number is in the 04-07 section of service honda, but there is also 3 other sheilds with the exact same part number. Are you sure this is the right number?

The 05 part number is the same however instead of being 600 the last 3 digits like the 08, the 05 is 000.
