Hey all
I'm currently in the process of building up my engine.
I'm looking at going with a 440 big bore with magnum cam and rev box, heavy duty valve springs, mild port and polish and full exhaust which im yet to decide on.
Can anyone tell me how well the CRF carb works with this sort of set-up? would the crf be a better option than the 450r carb?
Also if anyone has any other suggestions for my build i would really appreciate it.
cheers :)

Im not too sure about the difference in the crf carb and the 450r. As far as exhaust, I love the sparks. If you dont mind a little noise, its a top pick. But its not an anoying noise, it has a nice deep sound.

The CRF carb is an FCR, 40MM I believe, and the 450 R is a 42 mm, the FCR is better but a little more difficult to make work, I have heard, but a big carb is a "must have" on a big bore motor, go with the sparks big core x6, and web cam.

The CRF450 carb is a 41.0mm KeihinĀ® flat-slide. The 450R carb is a Keihin 40.0mm flat slide with throttle position sensor (TPS). I just got all this from hondas website. I'm guessing if you can make the CRF carb work it will be the better option. I mean come no...Bigger is better, its the american way.

Earlier 450r's had 42mm butterfly type carbs on them. Now they have 40mm FCR carbs. Its because the FCR is better.

i have ran both on my 440 and i like the fcr way better easy to tune when running on alcohol.
