as the title says, my rear tires (paddles 20x11x10)when i lean back i lean on the fenders and they get pushed into and cut the paddles.

does anybody have any ideas on what to do to keep this from happening, without cutting the fenders or changing my riding style?

thanks

that link wasnt working. but if you love the dunes and stuff i would get a +1 swingarm because it will be more stable going fast and straight. i'm not really an expert or know much on swingarms so maybe someone else can help you find the right 1

thats the item number
i couldnt get the link to work.

yes i love the dunes and go fast but also like to slide, so i dont want to lose the ability to slide easily.

Sounds like a rear shock issue to me.

Are you a big guy?

what would be a good way to support the fenders from bending back, until i get a swingarm?

cut the fenders, or get some good heel guards

Yeah i weigh 130 also, though i ride a 300ex, my heel gaurds are always hitting my rear tires... i use R/A Turf Tamers... and still hit, i am going to pull the gaurds off most likely.

yea it does sound like a rear shock problem. im 145 or so, run 20 inch paddles, and mine dont touch.

i am running 20 inch paddles on 10 inch rims.
size= 20x11x10
how could it be a rear shock problem? im not understanding that?

i think you guys have it wrong. i think what he is saying is he is leaning on his fenders and bending the fenders down to the tires. the tires arent coming up to the fenders. and all i would do is make a better stronger bracket so your fenders don't bend down as much and not spend so much for a swing arm unless you want it for other resons

There is two support brackets on the fenders, they could be broke off where they connect into the bottom of the fender, Take your rear fenders off and check those things out, you might not even have them.

there are no or were never any support brackets on the fenders, because the fenders are removed with the seat.

this is why i would like to get a longer swingarm.
its from durablue.com
Honda trx400ex
This bike has a short swing arm that angles down excessively (look at the bike from the side). Due to the angularity of the swing arm, there is a tendency for the bike to “jam” the axle into ground, virtually eliminating the action of the suspension. Imagine the front end off the ground (as in landing a jump) and you will see that there is no suspension action at all. The entire mass of the bike and rider (not to mention the impact load) are landing entirely on the axle. Your bike, effectively, has no rear suspension. The result is a broken axle (if this impact exceeds the tensile strength of the shaft). Be aware that the axle is fine, the bike is not.

is that true?

i weigh 200+ and have 21x11x10 and never hit. but i have a +1.25 swingarm and have my rear shock adjusted right. heel guards are going to bend if you ride that far back. i had that problem myself and ended up buying the blingstar notorious PEG and nerfs. i went without the optional heal guards though. the pegs are big enough i didnt feel that i needed the heel guards and i was right. when i feel the fenders in the air i just move my feet forward

if i dont lean back as far as i do i cant go through the woops without the back end fishtailing.
a new swingarm and heel guards might be in the near future.
