I have a set of Long travel Elka's and was thinking of getting the Fox Evol's for XC, anybody use these and can compare them to Elka's or Custom Axis?

i personally dont race xc, but i know chris borich does and he was obviously doin pretty well for himself. I have also seen many other riders with em and they seem to work great. I would just suggest running the shaft gaurds for protection for the seals

I know a few guys in the northeast that run like the AGP Series and use fox. Most love them from what they tell me! In my honest opinion, its a hard toss up between fox and axis! Both are awesome shocks! I just notice the fox fade a little faster then a conventional spring'd shock and the axis I've noticed to be a bit plusher.

loads of the top boys over here in the uk for xc use fox floats. They say the work well better then peps and elkas :)

i heard that if u use them in the sand more often then on mud that the sand starts to eat away the seals soo if u do get them i would use the guards to protect the seals :)

i think fox shocks would be great on any style of racing. They will save weight, have massive amounts of adjustability, and you can quickly make changes, sounds like a good combination to me!

Fox Shocks are great for any type of racing or riding. I will be running Fox in 08 for GNCC/xc!:D Can't wait. No comparison with Elka and Fox customer service is great.

Are you saying Fox has better customer service than Elka or that they both have good customer service?

Elka has good customer service too as well as advertising, that's why they are so popular. Fox imo is a better shock.

elka-advertising

a friend of mine's brother bought one of ballance's quads with fox shocks and they were suer stiff, he liked his lt axis better

but i dont remember the model of the shock or know how they were setup, i think its an interesting concept, i think rath was using them awhile back unless i am mistaken

I think the Fox shocks will do great for any type of riding. I can't wait to try Ty's. :D I believe Axis would be just as good.

I have both.. My 04 has AXIS and my 06 has FOX.. Honestly my o4 AXIS bike feels alot better in my opinion. FOX took awhile to dial in.. But its gettin closer!
