looking to buy a 450

so heres what im looking to a buy. cany be any 450 except for a yfz. i will only take a nearly stock machine if it is a ltr or kfx. if it is a 450r i would prefer it be mx ready and by mx ready i mean suspension mods and all that, not necessarily motor mods. i dont really care what year they are, but im not gonna spend a whole lot on the bike. my limit is 5500, unless there is an mx bike that someone is willing to sell that is worth more. i will be willing to drive up to 2 hours to meet somewhere. let me know what you guys got, i would really like to get this bike soon so i can do some stuff to it over the winter. also, dont post anything unless you have pics of the bike. thanks

im not interested in stock 450r's. i only want a 450r if its race ready, like my 450r that i sold which means with pep shocks or some other shocks, quality aftermarket a-arms, and just looks nice overall.

i hear ya its your choice. A better option for you would probably be buy a stocker and set it up to your style and pref. If you get one laid out already chances are it wont be set up for your weight, riding style etc.

yeah i really shouldnt of let my 450r go i knew i'd regret it but oh well...i've been on honda all my life i'd really like to try a different quad anyways

my buddy got a kawi 450 there not bad out of the box, i want him to set it up so i can ride it and see how they are

I have a yfz i love the handling and feel of it but your right about the reliability

my cranks shot in mine, bought it used though so not sure how well it was maintained either.

Ive seen alot of ppl that take care of the yfz get alot of hrs out of them

i know a guy that punishes his suzuki and its holding up real good surprised me

yeah seems like all my buds have switched to suzuki's and are having good luck with them so i figured if i can get my hands on one for a good price i might as well try it out.

I have a very clean '03 Z400 with a Yoshimura 450 kit. DAB Racing in Utah flowed the head and installed 1mm. larger Kibblewhite valves w/ DRZ springs. Have receipt for his work performed
( $575 ) Has a 92mm. piston and 5mm. stroked crank. This a 50 HP motor on the right Dyno. Runs much stronger than motors built by Yoshi. Also has Carbon fiber White Bros. pipe, 41 FCR carb., Web Cams, reprogrammed Dyna ignition, modded ESR intake, etc. Also comes with Trail Tech clamp & Renthal Fatbars, kill switch, '05 front shocks, powdercoated and gussetted subframe, newer Maier silver plastic with graphics kit. Quad is not been beat and never raced. Dune ridden only. The headwork has very low hours.

Be hard pressed to find a harder running 450 of any brand. No problem beating YFZ's and 450R's. I'm located in Utah but can help with shipping
