I have an 04 450R. I am wanting more power and the HC stage 2 seems to be what I want.. My question is if I install this cam is it going to hurt my bottom end?? Will it at least stay the same as it is stock?? Will it increase the bottom end at all?? Is it a good MX cam? I have tried to read the cam specs page, but really dont understand the charts or the info so if anyone can answer this for me it would be great.. Thanks in advance.:D

No you won't loose any bottom end power over the stock cam.
It will feel better from top to bottom.

Yes its a great MX cam.

I'll probably be switching from my 02 CRF cam to a HC2 after I get my headwork and carb.

What year is your R? If its an '04-05, then put in an HC2 and a 13t front sprocket. I have a HC1 and I love the Explosive low end power I get from it, I also have a 13t Sprocket

Mine is an 04.. will this stage 2 cam help the bottom at all?? Its not that I need more bottom end really, but it wouldnt hurt.. I was debating over the stage 1 or 2 and the 1 seemed to be more just bottom end which is nice, but I want more speed and power towards the top as well..

Heres What Made my Decision, And My local Engine Builder Swears UP and down about the Stage 1 Being a much nice cam than the stage 2

Stage 1:

Well looking at the graphs both cams make a noticable gain over stock.. seems the stage 1 def is a lower range cam dropping off towards higher RPM's where the stage 2 continues to pull..

Im new to the site but I'll add my experience!

From what I have seen, most engine builders use the CRF cams, good all around!

I used the HC1, awesome bottom to mid!!

HC2 was still peppy on the bottom but definitely picked up from mid to top! Great cam in my opinion!

HC3 is my favorite out of all of them! My 04-05 with high comp piston(14:1) other goodies and DASA exhaust pulled like a mo fo with absolutely no loss in bottom end! Still snappy outta corners but what impressed me was going through a field topped out in 5th pinned and the closer i got to rev limiter the bike actually started to make itself wheelie!! In my opinion, thats pullin power!
