what exactly does a stroker do for a motor and how exactly does it work, i know the crank must be moddified to install a stroker, but how exactly does it work and what does it do, raise comression? thanks guys

There's two ways to increase the size of your combustion chamber, one is to "bore" the cylinder and the other is to "stroke"
it. Boreing is increasing the diameter of the piston. Stroking is
increasing the "throw" or vertical movement of the piston.
I'm sure someone can explain this better but I thought this
would atleast give you something to think about.

forgot making the dome smaller fr more compression dude
But in other peeps terms for dummies:
Stroker = Longer rod the connecting rod than a stock rod so you then have to buy a spacer plate to make the cylinder higher so when the piston comes down with the rod it takes in more gases and gives more compression becuase the rod comes down farther than the stock rod coming down so thereofre it gives more response, bottom, and somewhat top. so sum it up if you get a stroker you get a longer rod which gives more comporession and then gives you mroe bottom mid and little top not much though, just like porting almsot but different stuff being changed
