I bought a 250x that had been sitting for a while.
Removed the tank, drained it, and cleaned it. Removed the carb and installed a new carb kit. Replaced 122 and 38 jets with 122 and 38. Set fuel mix screw to 1.5 turns out from the bottom. Installed a new plug. Started first kick.
It's now running WAY rich. Plug is dry and black. It's not oil on the plug. I think if I held a lighter up to the pipe I could ignite the exhaust.
How far one way or the other on the gas-air mix screw (and which way) should I have to go to get it running right?
Opening up the screw speeds up the idle. Should I do that and then slow down the idle with the idle screw?
Thanks for all your help.
