Holy crap dude what did you do to snap those things. I know of quite a few guys on here that have had no problems with their FLY handle bars, rolled them plenty of times with no problems.:eek2: :scary:

Time to invest in some 1 1/8, I got the Protaper Contours and they are great:cool:

Yea i run the FaSST Flexx bars. best investment i ever made.
Before them i used to run the pro taper contours, the cr high bend. They got hammy downed to the girls 400. I've seen bars break like that but never the cross brace and the bar.. just from a stupid soft sand roll over

I run Fly Aerotapered 1 1/8" bars and they are awesome. Fly bars seem to get a bad rep b/c a lot of people use the cheap steel bars. Alot of these bars either bend like taffy or are very brittle due to the carbon steel as you see here. I say if you're gonna run these cheaper Moose, Fly, etc bars then what do you expect for a 20-30 dollar handlebar. That definitely sucks they broke like that but he needs to get some 1 1/8" tapered bars...there's a huge difference in quality for the extra expense. If you're gonna run 7/8" bars you can't go wrong with Renthal or Pro Taper IMO.

bars are made to bust like that so you dont damage your stem, the bars are ALOT cheaper, or os thats what ive always understood

they wouldnt, landing a jump is a hell of alot less stress on them then landing directly on the handlebars

you want your bars to bend, theyare alot cheaper than a steering stem

What else would your buddy expect from a $20 set of bars? As stated above, time for some oversized bars and clamps. On my bikes I like the protapers out of most of the bars. When I raced 125c I put quite a few hard licks on the bars and they didn't even tweak. The renthal fat bars weren't bad either. I did slightly tweak a set, but it was just enough to notice when you'd ride. It's by far more noticeable on a bike though when you have to slightly turn left to go straight haha.

yeppers. I ran one set of carbon steel bars. When the bike fell off the triangle stand and bent them, needless to say they were off the bike that night.

those bars broken in the pics arent steel bars, I carried fly and the only bars they make with a clamping cross piece are aluminum, however there are 2 grades. does anyone run pro wheel bars and do you like them?
