I am curious about clutch options for a turbo-charged 450. Would a Drag clutch system be required due to the 80 extra HP being added? I want a 523cc Big Bore Kit plus the turbo to add unbelievable power to the quad, but I don't want to destroy my gears and clutch system... Anyone have an opinion?

Yup, get a lockout clutch, put that power where it belongs. ;)

Dont waste your time and money with the 523. just get a good low compression CP piston and keep it stock bore. I think Brad Heuwagen was getting over 80hp with stock YFZ and blow through setup.

Do you have any details on this? I would like to read about how he accomplished that. :)

Hey gringo I make 78 with my stock bore it's 58 hp with 37 ft lb and with a 25 shot of nitrous I only gain 20hp on the dyno and about 8 more ft lb's torque.
And dont give me the wine and cry about you dont have that much power all the time with NO2. you wouldnt have 80+ with a turbo bike either becuase they become almost to much to enjoy. 80+ is great for hillshooting or flat drags but it'a kinda twitchy for duning and will kill ya on trails. just my 2 cents

Heres an article on Some of Brad Heuwagen work.

Heres is a link to YFZtech there is another thread some where in the engine section.
