how hard is it to port a 300ex. my dad say he can do it. any info on it would help thanks

if your dad knows how to port then its no problem. you cant just go in and make it bigger. theres angles, lengths you have to optimize. of course you have to pull the head off, and take the
valves, and springs out of it. also match the size of the intake boot to the port. of course to get the maximum flow out of your head you need a flow bench. to get it ported and flowed will run about 250-300 rocks. you'll be fine w/ just a port job. i work at a ford dealership and 1 of my fellow techs ported it for me. you only need the flow bech done if ur looking for all out performance

Ya I agree. Porting isn't just makeing the openings bigger, there is a lot of other things you need to know about. If he has done it before on a four stroke and had good results then I would trust him. Otherwise I would get it done someplace else.
