if i had a standard 89 laeger replacement frame and i had an 86 R with laeger a-arms and swingarm would they fit? i thought the a arms would but i didnt know if there as a trick to get the 86 swinger to mount on a newer R and i didnt k now is it was all laeger if it would work either.

You could fit an 86 Laeger swingarm on the replacement frame. All you'd need to do is put a spacer between the bolts.

probably have to put a tube or cut the ears off the rear motor mount for the 86/87 swingarm. I put a tube in space for the rear motor mount on my atc250r, that I had a frame made for, that used the frame for the rear lower motor mount. I believe most of the aftermarket frames have the rear motor mount on the bottom frame rail and say to use a 88/89 swingarm.

make a spacer - take your swingarm to a machine shop along with swingarm bolt. make sure you've compressed the 2 middle caps and they'll be able to make you a spacer.
