You will have waisted your money installing an exhuast without jetting

You'll run lean and burn a hole in the top of your piston.

I bought a K&N powerlid and did not rejet. It made the quad stutter. I decided to rejet my carb 155 this year and the more air you get the more fuel you need. The pipe shootout page explains.

How did you even ride it without rejetting? Holy crap that must have really ran like @#$!

Seriously......if your not willing to rejet after adding a 500 exhaust system your just wasting your money and creating damage to the motor running super lean. If you do something to increase air flow your going to have to increase fuel. The power lid dramatically increases flow as does a full exhaust.

Generally adding things like cams doesn't increase airflow. It just adds more of a charge to the engine of what is already there. When you open the breathing capability of the motor you need to match it with more fuel. This adds power. Running lean just adds damage.
