Coolant, Clutch Cover

I am the original owner of a 04 kfx-400. I was riding this summer and noticing sand build up under my water/coolant pump. I was checking to get a new clutch cover. I hear suzuki made a faulty magnesium clutch cover.

that was on the 05 only. the problem you are having is the mechanical seal in the water pump.

there is a post in z400central on the fix. what you need is the mechanical seal and the oil seal for the water pump. very easy fix just have to take the time. what you have is the seal is bad and the coolant is leaking out of the weep hole in the cover.

check out z400 central.com and search for water pump leak fix. you will get all the info you need to do this.

i have done it twice ,once on an 03 and once on an 04.

Thanks. I was going to buy new seals and do it this winter. I was just checking that it was a bad case to begin with.
